How to Help a Friend Struggling with Negative Body Image

When I spoke at USC to Alpha Delta Phi sorority house, one of the sisters asked a great question, β€œhow do you know if your friend is struggling, and how can you help?” First, what a kind, loving question to ask. This woman was clearly not struggling with negative body image but wanted to be a support to others.

There are telltale signs of letting us know that a friend is struggling:
😜 Incessantly talks about dieting and their body.
😜 Over-exercise
😜 Eats alone or has eating rituals
😜 Constantly puts themselves down

How can you help?
πŸ˜‰ Stop negative body talk
πŸ˜‰ Stop talking about dieting
πŸ˜‰ Offer resources
πŸ˜‰ Lovingly approach her

Don’t miss watching it at 3:43. πŸ’‹πŸ’‹ when I share the most crucial piece in supporting a friend and YOURSELF.
